Welcome to English class at Great Hope Baptist School in Chesapeake, VA. My name is Miss Ramirez...my students call me Miss R...and I created this website with both parents and students in mind. Parents can, at a quick glance, follow what's going on in class; students can check assignments from home, especially if they've been absent.
I currently teach four English classes on the secondary level--English 7 (7th Grade), English I (9th Grade), English II (10th Grade), and AP English Literature and Composition. With the exception of my AP English Lit class, all my other classes have the subject matter divided into four areas. Homework assignments are generally given according to this breakdown.

My AP English Literature and Composition class is geared towards preparing students for the Advanced Placement exam at the end of the school year and focuses primarily on literature and literary analysis.
All of my classes complete a career unit and a research paper each year.
